OMG we are getting so old...
Saturday nights use to be getting dressed up going out to dinner movies or a party or even all three ....
So what happened to us ????
Three things old age.me getting sick and the biggest of all was the LM coming to live with us...
So now on Saturday night after dinner (in the lounge room not at the table ) and after the LM has his bath we sometimes watch a movie together and the boys (LM and Kevin) have chocolate and some popcorn or chips...
Or out comes the board games.....
LM's favourite is Monopoly....of course he doesn't play the original grown up version ....no his is Monopoly Junior Party which is a simpler version of the original...
We have learnt though (Kev and I ) that the LM takes this game very serious.And don't land on his property because he will let you know it...
He told Kevin once when Kev landed on one of his property's "Pay up old man" I nearly choked on my popcorn from the look on LM's face...
Sometimes out comes Connect four but he loses interest in this after awhile...
Another favourite of the LM's is Checkers .I bought this one from Kmart in a tin for $5.He loves this and he and I usually play a couple of games before he goes to school.I used to let him win abit but not no more I am fighting for survival now....
So in the beginning it was like Oh no its family night kiddie movies and games but now we look forward to Saturday nights.It has really brought us closer as a family ...We laugh at silly things sing a bit and even cry (sad movies) It has been a great thing for our family to do and I know it has made and will make more family memories for each of us....
