Valetines day

Kevin and I just give each other a card for Valentines day and that's it .This year we bought Aidan a card and a bear and he was so happy...

But with Aidan in school he was asking if he could do something special for his teachers and his friend Amber.

I bought him two chocolate roses for his teachers and he made them each a little card. So guess who was teachers pet that day ...

These are the finished cupcakes I made for Aidan's class mates.

They had a chocolate heart on top so not only did they get a cupcake but they received a chocolate as well...

They look so pretty here don't they....

While icing them I dropped the container  I was putting them in resulting in this cupcake mess.....

Luckily the recipe I used made lots more than what I needed so disaster was averted and the cupcake decorating continued...

All done waiting to go into the fridge till delivery....

Aidan gave his "friend" Amber a little bear for Valentines day and you should have seen his face when she gave him a chocolate rose.

Priceless.....

Lollipop hellos

This little fun project was pinned from Pinterest a long time ago but recently I have been going through my pins and trying to complete some.

Well today was this pins lucky day...

I got Kevin to take a photo of Aidan in front of my wardrobe which is white with his arm outstretched and making a fist.

We took a few shots cause Aidan being Aidan likes to pull faces but I got one I really liked.

I went into pic monkey and put the word Hello on the picture that way it can be used for any occasion.

The lollipops were bought from Woolworth's and I didn't know it when I bought them but they has cute smiley faces on them.

Then I just cut a little slit into Aidan's hand fist on the top and bottom and inserted the lollipop.

Done ......

Aidan wrote on a couple and we mailed them off to his friends as a nice surprise....

I am really happy with these like what a cute idea and you can write any thing you want on them....

Hope you liked them

Metal drum stool

I bought this beautiful metal drum stool from Kmart last week for $25 and just love it....

I have seen lots of these before  but also they were a lot more expensive...

Thing is I don't know where to put it yet What !! yeah I know weird for me hey.....

I was thinking of putting it in Aidan's bathroom where he  can put he clothes on while he has a bath....

Or maybe in my ensuite with a plant on it...

For the moment it is in the garage just waiting for me to decide.

My yellow bar stools

I have had these wooden stools for ages....

Originally they were going to go into our bar room with a wine barrel but I ran out of room ha ha

So they stayed in the garage till we decided to put the in the BBQ area....

I didn't want boring old wood colour I wanted them to stand out and OMG they stand out now...

I got Kevin to spray them in bright yellow....

and I am loving them....

Oh do you like my little photo bomber...

So here they are in the BBQ area with one of our wine barrels.

We are going to get a piece of timer and cut out a large circle to put on top of the barrel to make it a table...

But yeah that's on our to do list ha ha

So here is the before and after photo again....

Amazing what a can of paint can do to a boring piece of furniture...

Pampering my Little Man

When I got my nails done during the school holidays Aidan asked if he could get his toe nails done...

Now I thought about this for awhile as should I let a little boy get a mini pedicure.....I mean I let him paint his toe nails at home but in a shop that ladies and girls go to ????

That thinking lasted all of a few minutes Why not let him get it done for goodness sake he is only 7 years old who cares.....and if he was a girl I would have no hesitation so why now just because he was a boy....

So a mini pedicure he got....

He loved it .....

He couldn't stop giggling as it was tickling him...

They only washed his feet and cut his nails  and rubbed some cream on his legs then painted his nails in a lovely shade of blue that he picked out..

The look on his face was worth it all and I will be doing it again real soon...

The other ladies in the salon smiled and laughed at his antics and one lady even said she will be bringing in her two grandsons with her next time...

But the main thing was just how much Aidan loved it....

yellow loving

Everyone knows that at the moment I am loving the colour yellow ....I don't know why but it makes me happy so I don't question it....

Here is a few of my favourite yellow pieces around the house.

Loving Aidan's tissue box .....Kev made it for made it for me then sprayed it yellow and added the Batman decal to match Aidan's room...Its unreal i think...

I love the "hello" signs around at present but always thought that they were too big, then I found this one at Bed Bath n Table and this one fits perfectly in my entrance...

LM's repainted yellow clock....I've had the clock for ages it started as a nice walnut clock then went peppermint green  now she is yellow to go into Aidan's new room .Best look yet...

This is my latest yellow fix...

Its just a touch of yellow but enough to make me smile....

Oh no I forgot my new yellow stools.... but you can read about that later....

The little  garden gnome was also sprayed months ago love how it gives a great pop of colour to a otherwise boring brown space...

Green sheep blanket

I am very naughty its not like I have nothing to do because my 'to do list' is huge its just that when I see something I love I just have to do it straight away..

Which is what happened when I spotted this on a friends blog.

Emma from She Sows Seeds made this beautiful blanket for her daughter and I just love it and have to have it...

So I bought some beautiful Patons cotton in this gorgoeos shade of green cast on what I thought I needed and started to crotchet...

And crotchet and then some more crotchet.....

I am just doing trble so it is easy as anything its just taking me sooooo long and you all know I love quick craft projects .

Well this wont be one of those but I am deterirmed to finish it so it can be ready for when Kerry decides to have another baby...

Dubbo Zoo

Recently some friends we have made from the LM's school decided to go to Dubbo Zoo....

Everyone was excited but the weather was a bit iffy but we still decided to go anyway...

We left at 4.00am and were there about 8.30am it was a good run and only a light sprinkling of rain...

We hired the cars to get around in they were six seater golf cart looking and when you ask the kids what they enjoyed the most it was the cars Why ?

Because Kevin and Travis were racing each other and the kids were laughing so loud and cheering on their driver it was really fun even for us adults...

I love how the animals look like they were just in a paddock behind you....

I also really love this man but that's another story ha ha

Aidan loved the giraffes the best and we had to get him a little one to keep. Doesn't Aidan look like he is standing next to the giraffe...

So after lunch it decided to piss down with rain so we left but not before saying we are coming back...

Watch out Dubbo we shall return.

Teddy Bear loving

I recently went to a Doll and Bear Show looking for some fabric to make some Teddy Bears for the grand kids so they will have something special to keep that I have made them...

I fell in love with this bear can you believe that they are the same bear just done in different colours.

So I decided to buy the pattern for him I just think he is the cutest...

Well since I got the pattern I now had to get the fur.

The designer of the bear also hand dyes her fabric which is mohair and something else but I forgot but I do remember the cost.Ha Ha....

The three pieces of fabric I choose will make 6 bears and they will all be different due to the nature of hand dying the fur...

So for my fur pattern eyes and hand dyed suede for the pads I spent almost $200.She was selling the finished bears for $180 each so I know I got a good deal.....

So at the moment it is all stashed away and is on the "to do list " I am hanging to make it but it will just have to wait while I do all the other bits...

Our 3 night cruise...

Well last week we had our 3 night cruise with Carnival Spirit.

We didn't get off the ship it just travelled up to past Port Macquarie and back to Sydney but that was enough for me...

I was sick which is normal but we had  some big winds and it was a bit rough at times but still good...

One of the reasons for this cruise apart from a good break was to see how LM handled it....

Well he did handle it great....he swam went to kids camp and really enjoyed himself...

So while LM was at kids camp Kevin and I got to spend some time together which is always nice...

But it was also lovely to spend time just the 3 of us....

It was a really nice break and since it went OK we are looking for another cruise to New Zealand...

I loved the look on LM's face coming off the water slides he is such a fish...

The first cruise we did was P& O and while it was great Carnival Cruises is definitely the one to go one if you have kids....

Have you done the cruise thing yet...
