Quick and easy cake stand

I have been going through my Pinterest posts and trying to do some.

No use just saving them all you have to make some...

So I kept coming back to this cake stand using terracotta pots and thought "hello today's your lucky  day I'm making  you"

And I did....

Take a terracotta pot whatever size you like and pick a terracotta saucer to go on top.

Now this will hold your cake or goods so choose a good size and keep checking the pot and saucer to get the correct  size you want....

No use having a large saucer and a weeny pot or vice versa

Glue your pot to the saucer we used Arodilte...

Let dry then spray whatever colour you want...

OMG I love how it turned out I am going to make a few more now for parties in different colours.

Total cost for this was under $5 as we had the paint.I think that is a really cheap cake stand.

Capicums and Ricottta

This has become a big favourite in our house with Kevin and visitors....

All you need is the following...

Mini capsicums.
250grams ricotta cheese.
2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese.
2 tablespoons of roughly chopped pine nuts.
2 tablespoons of fresh oregano.

Roast your pine nuts and put aside.

Heat oven to around 180 degrees.
Cut top from capsicums put tops aside.

Put the ricotta ,Parmesan roasted pine nuts and oregano into a bowl and mix....

Now put the filling in a piping bag or a plastic bag with the corner cut off and pipe mixture into capsicums .

Put tops back on and place on tray....

Cook for around 20 mins ....

Can be eaten hot or cold...

Enjoy....

Kev loves these and I have reduced the mixture so I can make a single serve for him.He loves to eat these with a bbq steak so looks like he will get this a lot this summer....

Diy Snow Globes Christmas craft 1

Yeah Christmas is coming and it is going to be a great year this year I can feel it....

This year I am going to be putting on my blog lots of easy Christmas craft projects so here is number 1.

On the craft front the LM is all of a sudden enjoying craft so I love bringing out bits that he can do...

One of these craft time ideas was Snow Globes...

I didn't want to use water because I just knew how it would end up with LM just peaking into the jar and water spilling out nope we went waterless...

You will need

Decoration to go inside of globe.
A jar any size can be used  so long as your decoration fits inside it...
Hot glue gun.
Artificial snow.
Some small pieces of styro foam just little off cuts will be fine...

I made two snow globes .

One with a screw on lid it has a red and white base and the other with a pull off lid...

Glue a piece of stryo foam onto lid ....

Remember that your decoration is going to sit on this if you put the decoration directly onto the lid you won't be able to see it once the snow goes in  so I made my foam be about 3cms high which when the snow went in it just came up to the feet of the decoration...

Same with the other jar but this time you glue the styro to the base of the jar...

Now glue your decoration onto the styro....

Best part.....

Tip in your snow.....

If your using a jar with a pull off lid like above tip snow into the bottom of the jar then put lid on...

If your sing a screw lid jar put the snow into the jar now get your lid with the ornament glued onto it and put this into the jar screwing the lid on at the same time now tip your jar up so the snow falls to the bottom...

Sorry if I sound like double dutch....

As you can see I just used enough to come up over the foam and to the decoration feet around 2-3 cms....

You cant see the foam once the snow is in the jar...

The snow has a little sparkle to it and who dosnt like a little sparkle...

Well I hope you like these  I put a little decoration around the lid on the smaller jar.

So enjoy making your snow globes I have a couple more I want to make now...

Also I will be having a few Christmas DIY crafts being posted in the next couple of days I hope you will come and have a look at these.

Today I am sharing at Wow us Wednesdays

Multi coloured blanket

I love doing these circular blankets they are just so different and make up beautifully that I keep making more of them....

This year I decided I wanted to do more handmade gifts so for Annaliese's birthday I thought I would make her a blanket....

Brie isn't a big fan of pink so I went with this beautiful multi coloured Sugar n Cream and I couldn't be happier with my choice...

Whenever I sat down to crochet Lilly would come running over to me and snuggle in she loved it.

Getting there....

When finished the blanket is about 100cms across....

Arn't the colours beautiful?....

Well I finally finished the blanket and I am so happy with how it turned out....

At first I was unsure about doing it in a multi colour but now I am very happy..

Love everything about it.....

PS I have sent it to Annaliese and Brie tells me that she loves it and sleeps with it each night...

So I couldn't be happier...
