The best ever party dip..

This best ever dip was a last minute inclusion for Kevin's party.I would like to take credit for it but I got the idea from Carolyn over at Desire Empire  for some reason my computer wont let me link up to her site ..

Anyway I saw this recipe and thought yeah I like bits of each and I have some of the ingredients so I decided to use Carolyn recipe as a jumping off piece.


                         Best ever party dip
       
                                                    You will need the following...

1 can of mixed beans

2 avocado's

shredded cheese

1 jar of salsa I used mild.

sour cream

 

Sounds easy so far doesn't it....

I used a pie plate for this (mainly because I couldn't find another dish ha ha ) empty your can of beans into your dish...

Get your avocado and put it in a small bowl mush it all up the spoon over the beans.Sprinkle some shredded cheese on top...

Then empty the jar of salsa on top, add dollops of sour cream to the top then sprinkle more cheese on top.   Serve with corn chips...

I tell you this dip went really fast and was well liked I am going to make this one again and again and probably again ha ha

Old Church renovation...

When I first saw this church birdhouse  I fell in love with it straight away but after years of it  sitting in the sun and rain it really needed some attention...

                                            Poor little church it 's roof has seen better days....

The front ain't much better either ha ha

 

So out came Annie Sloan's chalk paint in pure white.I poured some into a container as I wanted to add water to it and paint it on not as a wash but almost a wash just a tiny bit thicker

I did  this because I wasn't going to be sanding it all and getting the timber smooth I liked the weathered look but just not that much.I thought it I gave it a couple of light coats with the watered down mix you would still see the timber cracks through the paint.

 

It worked...

To cruise or not to cruise...

We decided to go on a cruise to celebrate Kevin's 50th Birthday. We had some friends who were coming but they had to cancel as they had doctor appointments and a day surgery so in the end Kevin and I said OK we will just go ourselves......

So we booked a four day short break with P&O cruises to go from Sydney to Morteon Island WHERE!!   just along the coast in line with Brisbane....

We went on The Pacific Jewel and while we were off fluffing around Kevin's parents had the LM for the four nights...

Now I cant say the cruise was 100% good nor can I say it was 100% bad but we had a great time and if we go on another one we know what to do differently...

Our cabin was OK which was good because I spent a lot of time in there being sick.not sea sick just Dee sick ha ha ....

I didn't well actually I couldn't go on the trip to Mortean Island it was really rough and I didn't think I could get on the boat and lucky I didn't as poor Kevin got drenched it was so rough the sea they had to cancel the little boats and get another large boat to bring the passengers back.Kev came back on the big boat and said it was really rough...

So regardless of all the things I didn't like I loved spending time with Kev....we went to a couple of comedy shows and a few others we ate in a lovely restaurant....Kev  enjoyed himself  but as he had no work or worry,s so he just relaxed-me on the other hand was always thinking or Stressing as Kev calls it. I just cant shut down. Food was ok just depended on where you ate.I bought a pack of panadol and it cost $10 are you kidding me...

So maybe you will see us on the high seas another day .....

50th Birthday Party

My wonderful husband turned 50 earlier this month ...We weren't going to have a party but we did and boy did it turn out great....

Great looking setting .A big thanks to Alan and Lisa for helping out here I really appreciate it....Great food  and did I say great food,great friends all equals one happy 50 year old husband....

Blowing out the candles is always fun especially when little kids are helping.Here LM and his cousin Trey help Kev while Jaxon looks cute...

I just couldn't help my self the cake jumped out of my hand into Kevin's face and squished it in...Lucky I have a fun husband who didn't mind or else he was too drunk to care either way I love him....

So Happy Birthday Kevin hope you had a great night it was wonderful to help you celebrate this night together with our friends and family....

Mums May visit......

                          For the last seven days my wonderful Mum has been here for a visit....

                   It has been a great week for us and I'm sure mum has enjoyed some of it as well.....

Miss Lilly got lots of attention from mum and mum even took her to school to pick up the LM where she got lots of compliments and heaps of pats from the kids....

OMG the LM loved it .....Nan where are you Nana where are you ? Come on Nana I want you.....
they played checkers they did some knitting LM is still working on his French knitting blanket,Nana helped him with his homework ,rook him to the skate park  and gave lots and lots of kisses and cuddles  for you see she is that sort of Nana.....  PERFECT.....

Jaxon loved playing with his Great Nana and it was fun to see him get excited when mum would say"going to get you Jaxon" Jaxon would look at her and take off running then turn around to make sure she was coming  then smile and giggle and then he would play this game again and again till he was worn out....

                          Even Kev didn't mind having his mother in law around for a week.....

Me well I loved it who wouldn't love having their mother around looking after you chatting and just being together it was GREAT .xxxx

                        Jaxon got the Great Nan treatment again he is one lucky little fella.....

Kerry got to be with Nana its funny but Kerry has so many of mum's habits its weird and lovely at the same time....One thing also the same is how both mum and I are so proud of the way Kerry is with Jaxon she is such a great mother....


So now Mum has gone home.....I don't like it I miss her already .I really wish we lived closer but that wont happen for awhile so in the meantime I have to wait till August till I get to see Mum again....

Strictly Ballroom

                 Strictly Ballroom would have to be in my top five movies that I love.....

I cant say how many times Ive watched it I have lost count ...ha ha

For Kevin's 50th and Mothers day and my Birthday we were given tickets to the live version at Star City by Emmanuel Kerry and Jaxon such a great present.....plus they would mind the LM while we were at the show...big job thanks....

To make the show even better was Mum coming to see it with us and also our besties Alan and Lisa came as well....

                         Great show,great seats, unreal company all that you could want.....

It was great catching up with Alan and Lisa after the show they went on to see Vivid  Light Show  meanwhile we went home and got out to watch a DVD...nothing strange about that except we watched Strictly Ballroom the original DVD.....and guess what the stage show is very and I mean very faithful to the movie.....

Just wanted to say Happy 9th Wedding  Anniversary to Alan and Lisa it was great spending a part of this special day with you guys.....

Big thanks to Emmanuel and Kerry thanks for the tickets we really enjoyed the show and also for having the LM for the afternoon he loved it and has talked non stop about the both of you since Saturday also he refers to Jaxon as 'his Jaxon" which is rather cute.....

So if you can go to see this I would truly encourage you to do so it was BRILLIANT.....
