Come fly with Kevin

For Kevin's birthday this year LM and I bought him a hour hands on flight in a glider...
You all know that Kevin was getting flying lessons but when the LM came along he gave it up for awhile as it is quite expensive to do and the time factor was also an issue but regardless Kevin loves flying and has done  aerobatics when he was learning and also has flown in a couple of old planes so I thought this would be something different that he would enjoy-plus I really wanted to get him something special to show him how much we appreciate him....

Well today was the day he  got to go and do it.

 

This was another glider taking off I actually missed Kevin taking off as I was reading the paper-bad wife...

Kev was pretty excited while I was scared ..Not scared scared  just hoping everything would go perfectly for Kev- no that's a lie I was scared Sh@#less..... especially after we got there and I saw them taking off and landing...

"you sure you want to do this?how about we go somewhere for lunch instead" I said quietly...

"don't be silly it will be fine "he said with that look of omg your an idiot.

That's Kev landing.I tell you it was the longest hour of my life and I was so happy to see him back on terra firma...

Kev really enjoyed this experience as it was a hands on one.The pilot told Kev he flew really well then Kev told him he was learning to fly years ago....(I think he may just start again when the LM is bigger )....

The guys running the gliders were great-they took time to speak with the LM and took him over to a great spot so LM could film Kevin landing the glider.Then they took him to Kev and said he could sit inside the glider but LM is quite shy sometimes and wouldn't do it but was quite happy to sit on the wing.

Thanks fellas you not only made Kevin's day and gave him some great memories but you did the same for the LM-he hasn't stopped talking about it  but then again that's what he does all the time.TALKS.....

New slippers for Jaxon..

I found the cutest little slippers for Jaxon today in Woolworth's....too cute they were little puppies and I just had to get them and figured he could grow into them...

When Kerry was little she used to have a similar pair in pink but hers also had a little

bell on each side.You could hear her before you saw her.I loved her little slippers.

 I love this picture of me and Jaxon.I think it is my favourite so far.

Christmas countdown

For those who are counting it's 200 days till Christmas.

 

I can't believe it where have my days gone?

 

I didn't even realise it (well why should I ) except the LM had my phone and asked if he could check how many days till Christmas?He loves that you can change the picture on this app and when you shake the phone you hear Jingle Bells ...Ohhh how cute...(not)

I know I will at the end of the month when the stores like Target bring out their Christmas Toy catalogue and then I will have to get my list out and see who is getting what...

 

Last year I put an app on my phone  called "Gift Plan". It is quite good lets me enter all the people on my  gift list and I now have all their details for birthdays and Anniversary's but the best part is I have a record of what I got them last year so no doubling up..I can't remember if it was free or not but it's good.

Anyway enjoy your 200 days till Christmas because I know it is just going to fly by and Santa will be here before we know it.....

Mum's moving

My mum is moving......

Thankfully it isn't too far from where they live now.Although I do wish that it was down here near me ......

They decided to sell and down size  this new house is stunning but it doesn't have a pool or the gardens mum used to have which will be good for mum as she used to do all the maintenance  around their old house and while she loves gardening it was a huge garden..

It feels funny to have them moving I have never lived in the house they have now but it has been their house for 18 years so it's going to be missed.

I wish they were moving down here but they love Queensland and who would blame them for that. Kev and I would love to sell our house and move up to QLD but presently with the Little Man we aren't allowed to take him out of NSW. So we will have to dream but maybe that will change one day who knows what will happen when you are dealing with government agency's.

                                         Mums new house just waiting for them...

                              Mum's cat Benson is ready for the move......Come on hurry up I am ready to go.....

One thing about them selling that I don't envy is the packing and cleaning up. OMG I look at my house and think I couldn't do it we have too much junk. Mum is very organized though and they have been taking items over to the new house and putting them in the built ins so when the removalist comes there will only be big items that they have to take to the new house.

They are having a garage sale but my mum has already thrown heaps out and has sold things on Gumtree .All part of the down sizing .My  Mum never sits still she is always on the go I wish I had a quarter of her get up and go things are well on the way with the move. John is building a new outdoor cat yard for their cat and already has put in some new cupboards that mum wanted for the new house.This move will go  so smooth because that's the sort of people that they are.

Part of me wishes it was me moving but the other part says thank God it's her moving ha ha ...

The LM has had a really great week.First he got player of the week and then at school he got an award for reaching level one in reading.Good work LM you have made me very happy....

Pic monkey fun

I have told you all before just how much I love Pic Monkey...Well I will say it again if you want me too...

It is so amazing what you can do at Pic monkey and I was just playing around and having some fun.imagine what you could do if you knew what you were doing   ...ha ha oh the fun you could have ...

Craft room mess..

Crap...I can't find anything in here ..............

I know I have too much crap but this is what happens when I am freaking out looking for something the size of a coin.....

 

 

Oh Yes I found it ...It was in the kitchen....Now I better go and clean up the craft room before someone calls hoarders on me....ha ha

Making Mickey

I am  a sucker for those emails with coupons"buy me and save $$$ " you know the type...

Trouble is I buy vouchers for discounted entry to different places and then I forget about it and when I do remember they have expired....

Well not this time....

I bought  a voucher for Build a Bear Workshop for $20 where you can put that towards making your bear  or animal with a $40 value....

I decided that this would be a good time for the LM  and he suggested making a Mickey Mouse for Jaxon....

So today I thought ok lets do it (before this one runs out also )

                                                    Oh Dee I love Mickey so much....

 

I am having fun...(please note the soccer shoes we came straight from soccer )

              Putting in a little heart inside Mickey and a special voice box message..

I think this was the part that he liked the best  making Mickeys birth certificate on the computer.....

                                       We had a great time there and will go again.... I know some people would say this is a "girls"thing but the LM really did enjoy it and there are lots of animals to choose from and who cares if it is a boy or girl thing every one loves to have something to hug and cuddle......

                                Me -well I have my to love and cuddle and  Kevin and wouldn't want it any other way....

My little Pirate....

I have a little pirate living in my house....

Well sometimes he acts like a naughty pirate ha ha ....

On the weekend  the LM had a party to go to for one of the little girls in his class. This is party number two...one more to go.

The theme for this party was fairy's and pirates .As much as I love the fairy outfits that are around I couldn't do it to him and put him in a fairy dress (Kevin would kill me ha ha ) so I  dressed the LM as a pirate...

He makes a handsome little pirate I must say...........

Little Miss 6 year old...

Happy 6th Birthday to our darling little Annaliese.

I can't believe how fast 6 years has gone.

Annaliese is my best friend Jan's granddaughter.Her mother is Brianna who started school with Kerry and they were in separable from the start.

It makes me so upset that Jan is not here (she has passed away before Annaliese was born) she has turned out to be a beautiful little girl on the inside as well as the out side.

Jan would be so proud of how Brianna has raised Annaliese on her own (as well as raising her 4 sisters).She has done an amazing job

 

I couldn't think of what to get for a present as like most kids she has everything I couldn't even get books as she and her mum read a varied assortment of books and I know they have heaps.So we got a little signet ring.Kerry had one at this age and she loved it so I thought I would do that.Fingers crossed that it fits and she loves it.

It makes me happy to know that as Kerry and Brianna were friends growing up that Annaliese and the LM will be close friends also. The LM is only  2 months younger.

So Happy Birthday Miss 6 year old we love you.....xxx

Isn't he just sooooo kissable.....

Kerry and Emmanuel are so lucky he is such a good baby .He sleeps about 7 to 8 hours a night....what a blessing that is..

Always  smiling ...gee I love that little smile....I love it when he gurgles and tries to "talk"....

It's weird though I look at him and although it brings back so many memories of when Kerry was a baby he still looks like Emmanuel ...

I guess he has the best of both of them...

I have to say it again sorry but it is the Nana in me .....Isn't he just so beautiful.......
