The Little Man wins a prize

A bit of excitement around the house last week....our little man received a terrific art pack prize for a competition he enter for Kevin's work.

He had to draw a picture of how Kev works safely....

Pretty easy for most kids but the LM isn't keen on drawing  but the thought of winning a prize got him excited  so out came his pencils....

When Kevin's boss delivered his prize LM couldn't wipe the smile off his face and ours either for that matter...

So now he is killing me asking for comps to enter  all the time ha ha ha we have started something I think....

My latest digital books Love them....

You all know that I love my digital books I don't think I have printed photos out for awhile I just do these books and we have a stack now which we love going through every so often.

 

Well last month I made three special books that I thought I would share with you all....

 

Firstly its Jaxon's first birthday party.....

 This picture of Jaxon looking at his fingers is my favourite...

Then for Kevins 50th I made up a book with photos from when Kev was born till now...funny thing is Kev still has that cheeky boy look about him still even at 50...

Lastly to celebrate Kev turning 50 we went on a four night cruise.It was great to spend time just with Kev and do nothing..

Kev took these pictures with our Cannon camera...we have got to start using it more as it takes the best photos ever....

So thanks BigW you have come through again with our beautiful books to treasure....

Recently Kerry took Jaxon to a party and here are some photos of my little grandson -he isn't a baby any more quite the little man now...

I just cant believe how much he has grown...He still makes my heart swell with love though and that continues to grow

Blog to Print

Its that time of year again...

I like to get my blog printed into two six month volumes ....now that I usually post every day it wont fit into one book but hey that's OK ......

I do the same colour each year ...yes I know I'm boring but it looks better in my book shelves...

My book this year was almost 400 pages so it was nice and thick...

What I like most about these books is sitting back and slowly going through them reliving all the family memories we shared and the laughs...Looking back at our family journal  is what it is

Do you get your blog printed? this years book cost $160 but that included postage from USA.I think that is good value because I haven't  printed any photos out and boy is this book filled with them it just like a photo album.

Broken Spagetti and Pancetta soup.

I made this soup during the week  and Kevin loved it and  I loved it as it was so easy to make I hope you will try it and enjoy it as well.

All you need is to

Put some minced or fresh garlic into the saucepan  you are going to make the soup into and a little oil and cook this for a little while.

Chop a onion up and fry this.

Slice up a packet of pancetta into strips and fry with the onion and garlic.

Chop
1 large zucchini
1 large carrot

Add to the saucepan and cook till soft.

Pour 1 cup of water and 1 litre of  chicken soup into saucepan.
Add 2 cans of diced Italian tomatoes .

Break up your spaghetti (I used Angel hair) into 5 cms lengths around 100 grams  and add .

Bring to boil then simmer for 15 Min's.

Serve.

Kevin put Parmesan cheese on his.

And there you go a nice fast and easy soup to make for a chilly night. Another good thing about this soup is most of the ingredients will be in the fridge anyway and truly from start to finish it took me around forty minutes to make...

Happy Birthday Mum

 

Today is my mothers birthday Happy Birthday Mum.....

Mum is the greatest Nana to Kerry and Great Nana to Jaxon....Kerry has a lot of Nana's traits -shoes bags jewellery  and even mums stubbornness which I love in both of them...

Jaxon is her youngest great grand child.The last time mum was down it was magic watching him play with her his little giggling at her chasing him...I know they will have a great relationship as he gets older.....

Mum is wonderful she cheers me when I need it she is here when I need her and no matter my age she is always my mother looking out for me....She is also my best friend I talk to her everyday and some times a couple of times a day what do we talk about? I have no idea we just talk....I love her so..

She is a great mother-in-law to Kev and I know he loves her and would do anything for her and the feeling is likewise....

The LM is her youngest grandson...he loves his "nanny" so much ...She calls him her "little ray of sunshine" he loves that....He sings his Nana's songs that she loves "ABBA" he will call her to just say something little then he hangs up without saying goodbye.He loves his Nana cuddles and Nana taking him to school.Nana makes him little cups of coffee and spoils him like Nana's are suppose to...

I hope I can be this sort of Nana to Jaxon I should be able to as I have the best role model...

Then there is Miss Lilly she loves mum ..... in fact when mum was down last Lilly ignored me and sat with mum or cuddled up to mum....traitor..

So to my darling mum I love you very much I remember the  bad times and the good times but mostly I remember you always being there for me and loving me... and I hope I could be half the woman she is ..she is PERFECT.....

Digital Scrapbooking

 I am starting to get into digital scrapping.The only problem is you need photo shop which I have but I cant use it properly...

So I am plodding along and just trying to do it and guess what slowly but surely I am getting there.

This is my first page I made well its hardly a page but I like how it turned out...

I quite like this one I am getting a bit more daring trying different things.

I love mostly that this one has a Kraft background ,that is my favourite....

The picture was taken at our wedding reception and that is our wedding rings......

Jaxons first Christmas .....love this page although I nearly threw the computer a couple of times while doing this layout and I am sure the air was blue while I doing it as well.

I would do something right -hi five the air then with the click of the mouse lose it oh it killed me but I got there in the end and have a layout I love....

Now I wont be filling albums up really fast with these pages but I will just plod along and then get there...

Just got to print them all out now if I can work that out.I think I will just take them to office works...
