Best friends

On Saturday we called  into the coast to see the girls.Beautiful as ever.
Anyway Brie and little Annaliese came down to the Entrance and went for a swim.

The LM was very nervous at first but gradually went wild,Annaleise has been before and she has so much confidence she just jumped in and went for it.........

LM can't wait to go to the beach.

Annaleise loves it.

January first week

Yeah January 2011 yeah ....why am I so happy ? Because Kev is still on holidays and sun us shinning and I can smell a bargain...........

Look at these beauties .I decided to change from red to silver for next year display so went to check out Myers sale.These were $20 before marked to $5..

Coming home

Well this is the last blog post for 2010,

The trip home from QLD was wet hot and lots of "are we there yet?" from both me and the LM.

Yes all this mess came out of our car.

Our poor little sports car decided to go undercover as a family car....

And somehow our 2 door baby manged to do it  (for a week at least ) she became a  large 4 door family truck ha ha

But the joke is on me because I have to put this all away while Kev does yards.

Mitchell our 2nd son came over and took care of the LM while we worked.

Yes they played ....................and played.........................and played.

Little man went out and helped mow the lawns but decided the pool was better so went back ..

Aunty Deb's house

We went and had lunch at Deb and Ross's house before we came home.The LM was spoilt again by everyone he is so lucky to have so many people who love it We really appreciate it..

Gingerbread house 2

       Yeah we made our 2nd gingerbread house for mum on Christmas eve morning about 6.30am.

Now while I think these look great I will never make one (let alone 2) for Christmas again..

There is too  many other goodies and yummy delights  and as this is a new tradition in our house (first year ha ha ) the house didn't get a look in.

I would however make it for a Christmas party or I could be mean and make one up for you ( ?) and then you have to deal with a beautiful looking (modest hey ) Gingerbread house and decide when to eat it or chuck it,ha ha

                                                              Anyway here is some photos

Christmas day

Well the big day is here (well actually it was a couple of days ago but I am so behind so just play along ha ha ha or should I say ho ho ho )

We woke early the sun was shinining-Mum John and Kev sat down with their morning coffee.

 So where are the kids...."Oh kids Santa has been"   -   " Kids come and have a look at what you got "

                                      "WAKE UP IT' CHRISTMAS'
                    Alas I discovered something about my kids this Christmas.

             They have and I feel like a failure saying this  my children have Christmasitis.

Which means they don't wake up Christmas morning like millions of other children real early, NO my kids Kerry and Little Man sleep till I wake them.

Sometimes this is an advantage and I can do bits other times it is a pain sitting around waiting for them to wake up.

LM slept till 8.30am..........

The rest of the day just went along fine..

Mum made the best Christmas lunch (as usual) The highlight was my grandmas plum pudding recipe which mum has tweaked and it is to die for......LM was spoilt by his Aunty Deb and Uncle Ross and  was a big hit with Simone and Melissa-too spoilt.


Seeing my family today I can honestly say it was a  great day .Bad afternoon -I got sick and went to fever hell for a few hours but I did manage to get a piece of mums pudding so all is good.

This is mum's wreath hanging up-looks great doesn't it..

My mum is almost as clever as me.

This is our favorite piece from her stash of painted pieces and I have made a claim to it already.Ho Ho Ho

Yes you heard right she painted this,mum is a wonderful painter and I will show more later espically her russian work.

Mum you get your talent from me....

Tradition in my house for gifts from Santa come from - my first husband who was French (,he was a lot more but that is another story ha ha )Any way tradition was you cleaned your best shoes and left them beside the Christmas tree and Santa will leave your pressie underneath these.

Well Kerry has done this since her first Christmas and so has the Little Man.I think they look cute with thongs,It is funny to think of all the different types of styles we with through with Kez...

I love Mr C the crocodile.....

I have a Honda-A fast white Honda -This is my Honda.And yes this is how he spoke about the HONDA both real one we have and this remote control one Da found .

Mum and John even got their new car into the Christmas spirit.....(or maybe that was after mum having too much Christmas spirit ha ha ho)

The table settings were beautiful.....

The food  well apart from being plentiful it was delicious and we are still paying for it now almost 2 weeks later..ha ha ha

Kev made mango champange  slushies.

1 tub of mango sorbet

1 bottle of chamange

mix in jug.

yum....

My sister uses a blender as she cant wait to drink it and this mixes it faster......

The best part of all

Mum/Nanas pudding....

Yes I think I would do anything for this,Even just the smell of it mmmm yum  drool and that's just from Kev the drooling I mean ...

Reindeer Food 2

It's Christmas Eve and we have to put out a few things  before we go to bed....

Little Man grabs the reindeer food....His boxers say"Is it too late to be good" Story of his life ha ha ha

That's right sprinkle all that lovely sparkly food on nana's lawn.....The reindeer's will love it

And some milk and biscuit's for Santa ..2 biscuit's cause LM said Santa will be hungry.....

Christmas craft 3

I didn't get these last minute gifts finished till almost Christmas Day  but somehow and  with a bit of luck I did get them finished and was very happy with them.....

Butterfly's -Love them which is good because they are everywhere.

I got these frames from the $2 shop and they were bright gold.Cost $1.50 for the little one.

One tube of Warm white paint and a can of gloss clear and yeah beautiful white frames waiting to be filled in with some butterflies.

PS--the girls I gave these to loved them and I hope you do as well.

These wooden letters  are from  Lincraft..

I made these up for my mum ,-and thankfully she liked them..

Traci from  The four of us  made the flowers for me.She also did a set of the letters but had a black edge around them which I like but I thought I would do cream for mum,

They turned out.really nice as well.

PS they are sitting funny because being late at night when I finished Ididn't get the hooks on the back but mum will ....

This is a book I made my sister .I used to make "living books" a long time ago and then I saw one Giill   book of me  had made and so I adapted a bit from both ideas,and this is the end result and my sister did love it.

More Christmas bits from around the house....

Yeah know for someone who wasn't going to put too much out for Christmas this year - I didn't listen to myself because they is heaps of bits and pieces so here are some more of my special treasures.

I love my garland the best,It has little lights twisted inside that sparkle so pretty.And my favorite glass birds now have a new home,

Coasters

My husband is great although I don't tell him enough but he is GREAT -WONDERFUL -CUTE  (yes I am sucking up for a certain Christmas present I saw ha ha ha ).

No he is really great all jokes aside,I was really busy this year with some of the gifts I needed to make so along came Super Kev.

colours and details but at least you get the idea.

Now I wanted a set for my father and one for my brother in law  as part of their gift for Christmas.

So I call for Super Kev

"SUPER KEV OH SUPER KEV"

Yeah I know I am an idiot but hey it takes all types.

Super Kev got the art work and printed and coloured to size.

Super Kev cut Modge podged and then used a stamp to ink the edges and darken them..

Super Kev then used liquid glass which is  available at  Fred's...then we waited till dry and

Yeah !!!!

Coasters !!!! perfect!!!!!

Thanks Super Kev....

And thanks for wearing the tights (you are cute eye candy I know)

but I think you can take them off now...

Yes I understand Super Kev you like the feel of them but enough get them off....

PS- My dad and brother in law both loved the coasters and Super Kev -well last we heard he was walking away mumbling about having to take his silky tights off  ha ha

Reindeer Food

                                           What's Christmas without Reindeer food?

Each year we make Reindeer food  for the kids so on Christmas Eve they can sprinkle  some on the lawn for Santa's reindeer's.

All we do is mix

glitter -I prefer gold

glitter stars or some sort of glitter shape

and the main ingredient-OATS

Mix these all up and place scoopfuls into bags and tie with curling ribbon.

Then attach verse.The verse I use is

                                                        Sprinkle on your lawn at night.
                                                     The moon will make it sparkle bright
                                                         Santa's Reindeer fly and roam
                                                     This will guide them to your home.

                                                                And that's reindeer food

Bits of Christmas from around the house.....

Yeah we are back from our holiday in Old where we had a great time with my mum and dad.

Anyway before I show you all those photos and stories I still have a couple of others to show you over a couple of posts .

So grab a coffee and a biscuit  or two because this may take a while,

This little topiary tree is on the front veranda.

I have a "thing" for candy canes at Christmas and Kev put six little flashing in the front garden.
