Yes it's our little Pirate...The Little Man is going to a dress up birthday party and he got this outfit last year for his birthday but it was too big (plus I forgot he had it ha ha ) Anyway we tried it on and it was
PERFECT  for our Little pirate.

I took heaps of photos because he looks so cute oh sorry I mean he looks so BAD....

But on no I forgot something..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every pirate needs a moustache......So out came my face paints and presto.....We have our PIRATE.

Why are you  wondering "white hair" Well I knew he wouldn't wear a hat or if he did he would lose it
so I thought just spray his hair for fun.The best part is he LOVES it

He can't wait to go to the party and keeps telling me to hurry up and take his picture.....
This must be the mean pirate talking....

Kerry has just brought home the Little Pirate-all tired and messy but he said he had a good time...

This little cutie with the Little Pirate is his friend who he calls Little Charlie.
no idea why he says that but he always has.She is such a gorgeous kid -outgoing friendly as
opposed to the LM shyness.
They make a great pair.  PS she is dressed as Rapunzel

Party's over and and I tired.But I had fun.....

Books

The Little Man has a reading challenge at his day care .They have to "read" around 20plus books in 4 months.

We have been doing this and have discovered some favorites that the Little Man loves but the problem is he has outgrown most of the books we have

The Book Depository is a online book store -it is in the UK but they have free postage and the prices are great,I can;t get them as cheap anywhere here.

We just did an order and received it on Monday -So fast.The books were better than I thought so (sorry Kevin cover your ears) I have just doubled that order (some are presents) I cant wait to get them...

Here is our new stash of books.I can't wait to read them all.

I just had to read this one first and it is now a firm favorite with the LM and me.

Check out the knickers aren't they cute....My favorite is the Union Jack undies Just imagine Queen Lizzie with these on under her gown.....

Union Jack Cupboard.

Did you guess what the sneak peak was???? Yeah I know it wasn't hard.
Anyway it all started last August when I bought this cupboard from eBay for $63.00. Kev picked it up and she sat on my back deck for around 9 months just sitting there.I knew what I wanted to do with her but we just couldn't get our act together to start.
Well we finally bit the bullet and went to work on.
Before you go any further you better get a coffee or a cup of tea.This is photo overload.he he he...

Our $63.00 bargain.Isn't she beautiful....What do they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I was very unhappy with this shade of blue but Kev kept saying it will be OK just wait....

 
    Yeah all taped up and first cross painted.

Yeah Kevin is finished painting.It has taken him hours I would hate to add them all up.It took him around two hours plus just to measure and tape it all up..That's why I got Kev to do all this part as he has the patience and he is meticulous in what he does.Me ? no I don't have the patience I want it finished yesterday.ha ha ha

Tape all gone.now to stress and antique it....the cupboard not Kevin ha ha

We started to antique it using the stain that we were putting on the top but it looked yuck.I remembered I still had these from when I did folk art,You wipe it down with the linseed oil then put a bit of the oil paint on a cloth and start rubbing it over the piece not too big a area at a time.Then get a clean cloth and wipe off as much as you like.

The bottom half of the drawer has been antiqued while the top part is just painted.Big difference hey..
Oh and have a look at my cute little bandaged legs you can just see my toes peeping out
..

Its not finished but I just had to see what it was going to look like before we went any further.

What a mess you think I should have moved it before I took the photo but No......always in a hurry.

 
   The Little Man did try to help. Well help the best he could.

On this photo ( they aren't in  order ) I dropped the sander while stressing it....And while I like it to be heavily stressed I didn't like this white spot. So I got out the blue paint   and dabbed it with my finger let it dry then lightly sanded it and applied more oil and antique paint and Yeah all gone and I am one happy camper.But poor Kevin's face when I was sanding it I thought he was going to die after all his careful painting and prep work and then I come along with the sander and Vroom Vroom all gone...

     First coat of walnut stain and we are looking good.

     Yep.............. Kev it does look good...

          My handsome guy.

All finished and looks soooooo good...

Fiona from Lilyfield Life who also was a big help with her posts on how to paint this pattern.Hers looks so good.. Please check out Fiona's blog it is  awesome with many helpful hints and she has a vast knowledge regarding painting furniture plus the photos she takes are beautiful..
And also a big kiss to my wonderful husband who painted this cupboard and did such a wonderful job.
Even though he thought I was weird and "you want me to paint what" but he did it and now it lives in
the bar room in a prime spot.

It's the Little Man's trail hair do for his schools Crazy Hair Disco.

           I even got him a bow tie for the dance.He loves it...

Yeah I am silly but I thought I would put a smiley face on his belly before he had his bath.

      LM thought this was "cool"

 This is the real deal. Taken this morning at 6.30am .

       All ready to rock...

Andever.

Yes "Andever" is a word and a very special word to Kevin and I.
When I told him that I loved him forever Kevin added the word "Andever" to it.
Since then it is part of our everyday vocab.
We even named our house "Andever"and had a sign made to hang up at the front.
When we were married Kevin put in the word "Andever"  as place of marriage (oh  he also put in South Penrith ).

Well as I have said before this is the time to finish up bits and pieces with the house  as we want to sell.
Getting back to the sign -the stain on the frame was faded and looking dull and even the door bell
looked a bit tired.

Today  Kev took them down and sanded them and I stained them and Kev sealed them and put them back up ..
STUNNING...  It was a quick job but gee it really looks good.I am glad we did it.

The AFTER shot and I am so pleased with how they both turned out.

But that wasn't the end of our  Saturday morning fix up.....I deiced to weed the side garden -then the hedge out the front got a weeding and the electric cutters came out so they then had a hair cut... Well then I thought "Oh heck I may as well just weed, trim and cut some more of the front garden-(very big job) that way I can kill myself doing it  at least I will have a neat garden out the front for the funeral)

After all this I waddled back into the house and crashed.Poor Kevin got left with the cleaning up.ha ha

Scratch another job one off  my our  list....

Sneak Peak

Today I am going to give you all a sneak peak at a big project that we have been working on for the last year.
Yep one year.....I told you that this is the year for finishing all projects before starting something new ( ha ha that is going to be so hard for me )

     OMG my husband  is so handsome even when he is working .
    And check out that beautiful  smile.
    I think he is smiling because he is finally seeing  the end to this project.
    I think you can also tell I love him so much....

 Even the Little Man had to help out....I don't know if he was a help or hindrance to Kevin but
I know which one I am putting my money on.
