Teddy Bear loving

I recently went to a Doll and Bear Show looking for some fabric to make some Teddy Bears for the grand kids so they will have something special to keep that I have made them...

I fell in love with this bear can you believe that they are the same bear just done in different colours.

So I decided to buy the pattern for him I just think he is the cutest...

Well since I got the pattern I now had to get the fur.

The designer of the bear also hand dyes her fabric which is mohair and something else but I forgot but I do remember the cost.Ha Ha....

The three pieces of fabric I choose will make 6 bears and they will all be different due to the nature of hand dying the fur...

So for my fur pattern eyes and hand dyed suede for the pads I spent almost $200.She was selling the finished bears for $180 each so I know I got a good deal.....

So at the moment it is all stashed away and is on the "to do list " I am hanging to make it but it will just have to wait while I do all the other bits...

Our 3 night cruise...

Well last week we had our 3 night cruise with Carnival Spirit.

We didn't get off the ship it just travelled up to past Port Macquarie and back to Sydney but that was enough for me...

I was sick which is normal but we had  some big winds and it was a bit rough at times but still good...

One of the reasons for this cruise apart from a good break was to see how LM handled it....

Well he did handle it great....he swam went to kids camp and really enjoyed himself...

So while LM was at kids camp Kevin and I got to spend some time together which is always nice...

But it was also lovely to spend time just the 3 of us....

It was a really nice break and since it went OK we are looking for another cruise to New Zealand...

I loved the look on LM's face coming off the water slides he is such a fish...

The first cruise we did was P& O and while it was great Carnival Cruises is definitely the one to go one if you have kids....

Valentines Day

                           Happy Valentines Day to everyone.....

My health

 

 

Well you all know that I am battling an Auto Immune Diesase called Mixed Connective Tissue Diesease and we think that this has cause the ulcers on my legs...

It is a pain but apparently I am not the normal paitent. While I have it I don't show some of the traits and my main organs are ok at present.

The ulcers are pretty special if you like to call them that as in they are unusual. They arnt like normal ones and my doctor does talks all over the world showing pictures of them and discussing them all to no avail.

Some days I cant walk around and am in so much pain its unbearable .Others days I feel fine so I rush around trying to do a catch up on my housework and crafts. Last Saturday night I was up at 2.00am cleaning my house ...

One of the things we have to watch is my Anemia. I am very anemic so now I am having Iron infusions every three months  I kinda think it is helping but ill wait and see the results. Later this year my doctor wants to do another blood transfusion.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who enquires how I am going for the moment I am just going the only thing I can say about being sick is losing weight. Whoa I have lost heaps which is good but my doctor isn't that happy with it as he said having the weight was helping me  go figure...

 So I will continue to plod along and just try to deal with what comes my way...

Goodbye January

Well goodbye January it was fun but hey we have things to do and February is looking pretty good...

January was full of actives for school holidays like gee can they make holidays any longer?

Towards the end I had no more come on lets do some craft  more like go watch a movie any thing just go...

So of the highlights this month were....

I had a transfusion this month....

We did our first project for the year our TV cabinet turned out great....

We got new carpet for our room which started a chain reaction......paint the walls new fan new pillows etc..

A great day trip to Dubbo Zoo with friends...

Australia day celebrations...

And to top it all off we went on a  mini cruise...more on that later...

New blanket for 2015

OK I know I have heaps to do and lots of unfinished projects but when I saw this blanket I knew I had to make it but I just had to change the colours like Erek blue you know I hate blue....

The original blankets consist of 30 squares.

 6 different colour combinations. 5 of each...

So I went for these neutral shades of browns...

Here here is my first square .....

It was a lot easier than I thought and I was really happy when I finished it and thought yes I can do this....

SO YEAH 29 SQUARES TO GO ha ha ha

Bon Voyage

Just wanted to say Bon Voyage.......

We are going on a 4 day cruise to see if the LM is ok on a boat before I book a cruise to New Zealand.

This is a three night cruise from Sydney to Sydney Yeah I know weird hey but its just to see if it all is fine and heck its a break anyway...

Lets hope it all goes well....

First day of school 2015

Oh my goodness last year went  so fast and here it is 2015 and the LM is getting ready to start year 2 can you believe it ...

This photos shows his first day of school for the last two years...

I made the blackboard ruler sign so it would be easy to tell what year the photo was taken....

He looked so little when he started Kindy but who am I kidding he looks too little for Year 2...

And I still cried a little when Kev took him to school and when I said I love you to him he gave me a weird look and said "i know mum you tell me all the time"....

Well at least he listens to something ha ha

LOVE sign

I saw this beautiful sign before Christmas and I knew I had to have it....

When it arrived I was still in love with it....

But I had to wait three weeks to get Kev to hang them up and it was only me saying I was going to do it that he did it....

I am a bit surprised that I bought this as it is something I wouldn't normally buy but I am so glad I did as I am so happy with the look...

first project for 2015

Well I have started the year off big.....

Here's the first project for the year...

Ive had this unit for ever and a day ...

While I liked it when we got it I don't any more...

So I finally got around to changing it with Kevin's help...

First off Kevin replaced the slats for tongue and groove panels in the doors..

The unit had black hinges and brackets well Kev took them off and patched the holes and bought silver hinges...

Oh I didn't undercoat it because I tested the paint on the side and left it for quite a while before we painted it and it didn't bleed so I do we were OK ..

Oh goodness are we doing the right thing....

We can still stop....

So off I went and started painting and painting and painting felt like it took forever and it did...

                                

We decided that as it gets used heaps opening and closing that I wanted a durable paint so we used Dulux Aqua Enamel...

This covers so good and dries fast too...

Yes we painted it in our lounge room it was too big and heavy too move so we just used dropped sheets...

Almost done....

It was about here that I went down hill sick so Kevin finished the unit off....

And he did the best job...

In case your wondering the doors are in the garage...

And here she is finished.....

I love it so much .....

My Little Pony party craft .

Yesterday I showed you some pink marshmallow treats for a special little lady .....

Well I also made the cake for her...

I should call this my fifteen  minute  cake.

I bought a My little pony for the topper as the birthday girl Emily loves them...

I put two pre bought  mud cakes on top of each other to give the cake height ....

Then put icing around the cake and used musk sticks to go around the edge.

I finished the outside of by tying a pretty ribbon around the edge and making a big bow for the front...

I them put a bit of icing on the top and covered the top in pink and white M&Ms.....oh and I put the pony on top...

Ta da -one My little Pony birthday cake done and one very extremely Happy Birthday girl.....

Just to give Emily a little gift as well as her cake I bought this little pony from the supermarket for about $2 it was pot luck what colour pony you got and I was lucky and got a little pink one...

I glued a little eye hook into the crown then threaded a ball chain through the hook...

Hows that for a quick gift...

I am so happy with how it turned out...
