The Little Man turns 5

The Little Man turned  5 last week and I have been slack and have only put the photos together now  (thank you picmonkey.com just love that site)...I have made them into  collages so there wont be as many photos hope they are OK and don't bore you too much....
For this party the theme was Lego (yeah like you wont be able to tell ha ha ha )

 Healthy food (see I didn't just make fun and sugary foods we did healthy and the kids loved it )...Kev made most of the caterpillar..(which I saw on pininterst but I cant find who did it.So thanks for the idea of our hungry caterpillar).I have to say most of this fruit was eaten.

 I made little bubble bottles and these were the gift bags to take home which had lollies and stationary in them....

 The LM in front of one of the tables.....And look I made REAL chocolate crackles....(rice bubbles coconut and melted chocolate buttons .I tell you this they are unbelievably good and once you make
them this way you won't go back to the other way.)

 What is a party without patty cakes...I downloaded the labels and made  the cup cake picks .Another hungry caterpillar tray.

 The birthday boy....I made some labels to go onto the chocolates (I used cadbury furry friends) I ran out of time to make the cake so I bought this one.Super yum it was....

 The 3 of us,I also downloaded the letters for a banner.The party spread.and what party is not complete without balloons.(OMG that will be another post )

 What a party spread - cake pops that I made .The LM wanted these just like this just with sprinkles.. He also wanted teddy bear cars (made with milkyways ,smarties and Teddy buscuits.) and teacup biscuits are a favorite of his.(tic toc buscuits,marshmallows and freckles for the top.Oops I forgot we cut lifesavers in half for the handles.All put on with melted chocolate or candy melts whatever I had at the time...

 I love these photos.We both laughed  and laughed....(yeah till I had to clean up the mess on us both -mum cleaned up the rest with Gail)

My beautiful boy turns 5 .....all grown up ha ha ha and doesn't he look good wearing his crown.I was really pleased it was no problem to get him to wear it.Now I have to wash it and put away for next year...

Washi tape

I have a new addiction.It is called Washi Tape.I can't get enough of it .At the moment I have around
13 more rolls on order so I can't wait for my happy mail to come.
Just seeing all the colours together makes me smile. BUT I have rules I have to have all the colours in the correct spot.No mixing colours here.The rolls have their own holder to live on and they can't be changed (I sound like a freak) but I like some things to just be ok.

I had some mini spools so I made  up  some washi  rolls for my mum to use. They look so cute I have to get some more spools for me.

I know it dosn't look like I have many rolls YET but I will have,  Now to look on Etsy for some more.I wonder what colour I will find this time

Leaving on a jet plane

Leaving on a Jet plane.....My Little Man left on Saturday to go to QLD to his grandparents house
for 2 weeks....What was supposed to be a break for Kevin and me is horrible for me. I miss him so much..I miss the constant noise= my house is so quiet.Kevin and I can have a conversation without interruption.No more arguments at dinner time about him playing with his food (that is the LM not Kevin) No more "DA where are you? "being called out all the time.But I miss the cuddles and kisses and I miss his little stories he tells me and when he likes to dance for me..I miss snuggling up in bed and reading books together and playing tickles.I MISS HIM..... 2 weeks is 2 weeks too long...

Look at the poor little thing....his toy dog is in his backpack.Little sad eyes....I MISS HIM....

Out the front

Out the front of our house is a path to the garage....
BORING....
On the path there is a bench seat

BORING.....
So I thought what can I do here???? When mum was here we saw at the nursery a really nice metal
table and 2 chairs for $360.00 dollars.I really liked these and thought they would look perfect on the path...Problem is we live on a busy road and I was worried someone just might steal them and then it would be Goodbye $360.00.Then I got thinking......I have a set similar to what I saw at the nursery 2 iron chairs and a glass table. and they were in our pool yard....Well Kev took the bench out to the back yard and brought the table and chairs around to the front where I washed them down.Then I sprayed the legs and arm rests black to freshen them up and make them look nice and clean  and finally I put some beautiful (one of my favorites ) hearties (just like pansies ) into a black pot  and PRESTO..

BEAUTIFUL.....
I am so happy with how this looks.It just has changed the front soooo much and I love it....
And it was such a cheap change.$3 for black paint $10 for pot and $10 for plants.Now Kev has a
very happy wife.

Little Harry Potter.

The Little Man  has his 1st book week parade next month and I thought OMG who are we going to dress him up as........LIGHT BULB moment ! He really likes Harry Potter so I thought I will start to read that to him before the parade.I went to our trusty eBay and bought his robe from the UK and the scarf from Melbourne (I did check around here but could only get his glasses.) It finally all arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait to dress him up....(just like a little Barbie  doll )
He looked SOOOOOOO Cute.You be the judge.

Baby size Harry Potter.

Cute but I think Harry needs a tissue his nose looks a bit wet  ha ha ha Also I just noticed how deep pink his lips are..I promise I havn't put anything on them....This LM is going to be a lady magnet when he is older soooo cute.

Who's a Lucky girl then ???

Who's a Lucky girl then ???  ME that's who...Since my last stay in hospital I have lost heaps of weight  and  now my wedding ring is way to big.We tried to get it resized but our jeweller said he couldn't do it any smaller as it is 3 rows of diamonds and he couldn't guarantee they wouldn't pop out and then that would  be an added expense to have them reset.
 So I have been wearing my wedding ring  on the  middle finger on my left hand that was  till Sunday before the LM's  birthday party.My mum was gathering up all the rubbish and asked if this is all the rubbish I said Yes and mum just happened to look into the bag and here was my wedding ring in a plastic bag about to be thrown out..OMG I nearly died    .Needless to say the ring has been put away in the safe. so now my hand is ring less and I hate it,So I did what any good wife does I WHINGED... Kev said I could  get a new one and  told me how much I could spend (let me just say something here.....Believe me it wasn't as easy as I am making out here I had to really talk Kev into this as this will now be my 3rd wedding ring )So I did just what he said and was even a tiny bit under buget.......

 Sorry last look.... I just love it.....I know they say diamonds are a girls best friends but I  say Kevin is my best friend....Just love him...And my new ring..

Red Velvet

Red Velvet ....Red Velvet... that's all I hear about when I watch cooking shows on TV...What is Red Velvet ???  Cupcake Wars -Red velvet...Cake Boss-Red Velvet.....Ace of Cakes-Red Velvet....Yes I watch a lot of TV but I still don't know what a Red Velvet cake looks or tastes like.
UNTIL yesterday.. mum and I were shopping and a new cupcake shop has opened in our shopping plaza.and guess what??? they have the mysterious Red Velvet cupcake (mind you it cost $3.60 each ) so I bought two and took them home...

We all had some and the verdict is.........drum roll .........NOTHING SPECIAL....that's right for all the hoopla I have heard about them  they are just OK and that is me ,mum Kev's opinion and the LM just ate it without comment,To him it is just a cake

Yeah I know I have mixed up the two super heroes but who cares I think it is funny .
I bought this cute little batman outfit off eBay and couldn't wait to try it on our dog -a pug called Bonnie.Who is named after the greatest rock God ever Bon Scott from AC/DC (only thing was she hated it and it was a little too small.the man who sold it to me said this was the size for a pug.)
 Well we have FAT  BAT PUG DOG
I have to stop this is getting weird.

Today's Quickie

Today's post is a quickie and I will do a post later with more details from the Little Man's birthday party which was yesterday and his birthday which is today..He is now 5.Time just flys ...
I will be doing another post with birthday party photos and the craft we did for it but I just couldn't resist this picture and wanted to share it with you.......

I just couldn't help it ....the cake was just sitting there looking at me saying "come on you  know you want to do it  come on just imagine the cake squishing through your fingers onto his cheeky little face.....come on do it ....DO IT!!!!!!  )

So I did...........and it felt good and we BOTH laughed and laughed together (I would do it again just to see his little face light up and smile....plus he looked cute with cake all over his face....

Today is a special day  for another reason as well ..It is mine and Kevin's anniversary we have been married for 8 years  ( I had to ask Kevin how long it has been ...Why don't I know???? well when you are living in heaven with the love of your life why do you need to keep track ??? good answer because I just can't remember how long it is )

Here we are at our wedding.It does sound corny but I don't think I have ever been happier in my life
than how I am now with Kev.He truly is the love of my life and the pain in my B#%..

Birthday Crowns

Well in the year 2010 I discovered birthday crowns and thought I love them I am going to make some.....Well jump forward to August 2011 and guess what I have cut out 2 crowns and they are ready to sew...
We are now in 2012 and I have 5 days till the Little Mans birthday party so what do I do ? I decide to finish them Yeah .....NOT
.I now have a new sewing machine  (I bought Kerry and myself a sewing machine around 2yrs ago as mine had died) I have never even opened it to have a look I can't find the instruction book but how hard can that be I have been sewing for 35yrs all sewing machines are the same.....WRONG...OMG after around 2 hours I finally get all settings just how I want them and I am
ready to sew...

Guess what I just found my instruction book.Only 2 hours too late...

My little mans crown soooo cute I love it.....Now this is where I saw the crowns and also the pattern to make them  Birthday crowns  go have a look and make one your self.

I have changed the pattern around abit as I am a slack sewer but as long as it looks OK that's all that
matters....

This one is for a very special girl ...the only problem is....well there is 2 problems one is very wonky
sewing and the other is I used GREY cotton because I couldn't find the white...

When the little Man tried his crown on he was so happy and asked if "he was a king now ?"

I asked the Little man to put this one on so I could take a photo of it but he said "NO I AM NOT WEARING GIRL THINGS YUCK...  and this is from a little boy who I just bought him some green nail polish ...ha ha ha

All done and I am very happy with  the end result .I will be making some more.....

Love this ribbon but I forgot where I got it from...Oh well I can shop and find something just as nice.

Now what am I going to do now?the birthday party is getting close.
