Christmas Craft 8 Clay Stars...
This was probably one of my favourite crafts I've made this Christmas Little Clay Stars gift tags...mouthful to say isn't it ha ha
I have seen these all over the net and if you know me once I see something I have to try and do it...
You only new a few things...
I used Fimo Air dry clay light, but my friends used another clay like Das that was brown when they used it but as it dried it went white.
So really whatever air dry clay you get will be fin try a couple till you find one you like.I like the Fimo I had a go of the Das and found the Fimo lighter and easier not as much kneading to use so I am sticking with Fimo...
Cookie cutters -I had some star shapes in different sizes..
Rolling pin- I have an acrylic one that I use for fondant its small so I used this one but wooden ones are fine.
ABC stamps- I have a box of little alphabet stamps and they worked out well.
Oh baking paper and a tray. Just put the baking paper on the tray so your shapes are on a flat surface and the paper stops it sticking....
Break off a bit of clay and knead it lightly then roll out to about a couple of millimetres. Its hard to explain what thickness to roll but you don't want it to thick or too thin you just do it to personal taste.
Then use your cutter and cut out your shape..re roll clay and cut out again...
I liked to cut out about four or five at a go...
Now just get your stamps and stamp your name or word or just initial onto the clay don't go to hard though....
Using a skewer (oops I forgot to say that before) make a hole so you can pull cord through when they are finished....
Here's all my cuties just sitting here drying out ....
When finished thread through your cord....
After I took this photo I used a emery board to sand off any marks that were there ...
These were so easy to make ...LM made some as well and he liked making them...
This cute little tree is from my friend Vanessa .I She is one of my craft group and I just wanted to show you that she used her stars as decorations. Also this is the DAS clay. So pretty...
One friend of mine when she rolled her's out got a doily and rolled it over the clay took it off and her star had this lovely pattern on it..
Another friend when her stars dried she painted them with white acrylic paint and when that was dry she got some red paint and wiped over the names then rubbed the paint off that way the name was more visible but I like mine this way...
Here is one of my stars all wrapped up. I am so happy with these and when you unwrap your gift you can keep you tag to hang on your tree the following year.
If your going to do any craft this year try these I am sure you will be happy with the out come.
Today I am sharing at Wow us Wednesdays
